What is the advantage to attending Beacon Hill vs. getting my GED?
Beacon Hill Career High School gives you more than a high school education. You also earn a career certificate in your chosen career area. You’ll learn valuable career skills that prepare you to enter the competitive job market. A GED or General Equivalency Diploma involves taking an exam that you pay for. However, preparing for the exam does not provide you the extensive learning opportunities of completing coursework.
How long will it take to get my high school diploma online?
Depending on how many credits you transfer to Beacon Hill Career High School, you can earn your high school diploma in just a few months. Once you enroll, you will have up to 18 months to complete the program.
Is Beacon Hill Career High School accredited?
Yes. Beacon Hill Career High School is accredited by SACS CASI/AdvancEd. We are also approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
When can I start?
Start anytime! We offer rolling admissions, which means you can start anytime of the year–whenever it is convenient for you. Within one day of completing the enrollment process, an Admissions Advisor will provide you with all of the information you need to get started. You’ll be on your way to getting your high school diploma online.
Will the high school classes I’ve already completed count toward this diploma?
Our Registrar is happy analyze your transcripts and apply credits for any course work you completed that fulfills our credit transfer requirements. Elective credits do not apply since the electives we offer are necessary to earn your career certificate.
How much will I need to study?
We recommend that you dedicate 6-10 hours per week to your coursework. Your Academic Coach will help you stay on track! We also provide you with a Pace Guide that helps you move through the program by completing one credit every two weeks.
When can I work on my courses?
Access your classes anytime! Courses are self-paced and taught in an online learning environment available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What if I need help on my coursework?
We are here to help you! Your Academic Coach will connect you with one of our certified instructors to provide you with additional academic support, when needed.
What is the career portfolio?
At Beacon Hill Career High School, you graduate with career skills and the tools to market your skills. We teach you to create essential job-search documents, such as your resume and a cover letter.
If I choose a major like Child Care, how will I train to work with children?
While we provide you with all of the coursework you need in order to qualify for a Childcare Certification, you will find a local agency in your community to fulfill the hands-on training hours required.
How much does it cost?
The program tuition is $1295. There is a $91 administration fee that we waive for students who select the full payment plan. Visit our tuition page or contact us for more information about our low monthly payment plan option.
Will I need to purchase textbooks?
No you will not; however, the Language Arts classes may require novels, which you can purchase or check out of the library. To find the library closest to you, click here.
